Artist Statement, 2025
In my artistic work I explore memories, emotions and silence. My interest lies in the unconscious, the unspoken, and what is hidden between the lines.
The beauty of simplicity as found in nature allows me to discover new things. A further focus of my work is on my own biography and the concept of home.
I often use traditional textile techniques that I apply outside of their original context to produce multi-layered geometrical works: objects and drawings made from paper, thread or metal.
The circle is a recurring element, symbolically embodying unity and the cyclical nature of life. I begin at the center and work towards the outside. My meditative process leads to a rhythm of structures and shapes.
Bio
I was born in 1983 in Upper Austria. Since 2012, I live and work in Berlin. My practice centers on precision, material sensitivity, and meditative craftsmanship. Trained as a goldsmith, I developed a deep appreciation for detail and traditional techniques during my four-year technical education, graduating in 2001. After the birth of my daughter in 2003, my path unfolded through a wide range of creative fields: cast model making, set construction, installation setup, jewellery manufacturing, and restoration. All of which form the foundation of my material fluency today. As a self-taught visual artist, I work from my studio in Berlin Oberschöneweide.
